This tour is perfect for you if: You want to experience Real Italy, meet Italians or visit special places. If you’ve always dreamt of spending time on the sweet Italian hills, or the stunning clear beaches and the typical alleys but you are not a fan of cities packed with tourists, if you want to feel Italian, even for a little while. If you think a glass of wine is the best way to finish your day, what is better than doing it among the Tuscan vineyards?
- Day 1
Welcome to Bologna
Arrival at Bologna’s airport where you will be welcomed by Ivano and Stéphanie. Free ride through the alleys of the city, discovering Bologna, which is known in Italy as the wise, the fat and the red. Return to the B&B for a tasting of typical km0 products, cold cuts, cheeses and local wines. - Day 2
Let’s explore Bologna
Enjoy a Free day through the city; take a tour in the historical shops of the city and, for an authentic experience, we can lend you one of our bicycles, that will be waiting for you at the B&B! - Day 3
Time to get lost in the hills, let’s go to Valsamoggia
Breakfast and transfer to Valsamoggia, a little town in Bologna’s hills, where our headquarter is based. Here Silvia, who will lead the group to the Human Destination Court, will welcome you. We will have dinner with specialties made of grape, grape’s leaves and sprouts. - Day 4
Let’s walk through Valsamoggia
Enjoy an excursion by mountain bike or feet to the ancient castle of Monteveglio abbey or Castello di Serravalle, with its medieval garden, then spend the afternoon visiting an agricultural and wine farm, wine tasting and lunch on site taste our freshly made tigelle and artisan cold cuts. Dinner and overnight stay. - Day 5
Some more Valsamoggia
You will be able to choose either to enjoy a nice excursion by car to the antique market or hike along a stretch of the Piccola Cassia. Then, we would love you to visit to the workshop of scenographer Gino Pellegrini (https://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gino_Pellegrini) and have packed lunch with us under the large maple garden. - Day 6
Time to be in Florence!
Time to hit Tuscany! After breakfast, you will transfer to Florence, where you will enjoy a nice walking tour of the city to discover its beauties. Enjoy your lunch in the city centre, and then meet your next Human Destinations, Tina and Paolo. They will welcome you in Maremma, in a Tuscan Farmhouse. Enjoy a simple dinner with typical Tuscan products and IGP wines produced on the farm. - Day 7
Relax in Val di Cecina
After an organic breakfast on the farm enjoy a day completely dedicated to wine: you will discover how the Montecastelli IGP wines are made with Tina and Paolo, and you will be able to taste all of their unique characteristics. Then, if you would like to relax, hit the swimming pool surrounded by green and soft hills to enjoy the tranquillity of the Tuscan Maremma. Finish your day with a delightful dinner at the farmhouse, with organic products from the garden. - Day 8
Daytrip! Let’s visit Volterra
Wake up to a nice organic breakfast on the farm, then walk with Paolo among the farm consisting of 20 hectares of forest and 44 of organic cultivated land and taste the organic extra virgin olive oil produced by the farm. You will pick the vegetables that will be served during lunch; did you ever eat something that fresh? In the afternoon, you will visit the splendid Volterra: discover its Etruscan origins and walk on the city walls letting yourself be carried away by the timeless magic that surrounds the city. Once you come back, enjoy a typical Tuscan dinner in the farm. - Day 9
Next stop Siena!
Say goodbye to Tina and Paolo! It is time to transfer to Siena and your new Human Destination! After leaving your luggage in the B&B, enjoy a free day in the city; we suggest you take a tour in the historical shops of the city and discover the contrasts that characterize it: the black and white of the cathedral, the ups and downs of its alleys and its most hidden part, Siena underground. Free lunch and dinner. - Day 10
Explore the city! The secrets of Siena
Enjoy your breakfast in the B&B, and then get ready for the palio! You will discover the secrets of the Palio di Siena, a unique event of its kind, visiting some of the museums of the districts of the Palio to enter the competitive atmosphere that characterizes the city. In the afternoon why not moving to Monteriggioni: a fortified village that has remained intact over time and that dominates the sweet Sienese lands. Free lunch and dinner. - Day 11
Would you fancy a glass of wine? The hills around Siena
After having breakfast in the B&B, choose what you would love to do: wonder around the city, going shopping, indulging in a nice lunch in Piazza del Campo, the morning is completely free. In the afternoon, you will visit the Senese lands and visit a slow food winery awarded by the Slow Wine Guide 2016. There, Roberto and Emanuela and their huge passion, will welcome you and guide you in tasting their organic Chianti. Free lunch and dinner. - Day 12
To the very center of Italy, let’s discover Umbria!
Time to say goodbye! After Breakfast, you will reach Umbria and meet your new Human Destination. Here, you will have a cultural cooking lesson, which will allow you to prepare four courses, with wine as an ingredient or in combination, and information and advice on how to create recipes for every day starting from simple ingredients. Free lunch and dinner. - Day 13
Cooking in Umbria!
Have breakfast in the B&B, then take part in a small seminar on the creation of a recipe, including the harmonization of ingredients and wine pairings and indications of how to write the recipe in a blog, book or other project. Free lunch and dinner. - Day 14
Daytrip! Let’s visit Montefalco
Daytrip! After having breakfast in the B&B, leave for a visit to Montefalco: the village is part of the food and wine itinerary of the Sagrantino road, a route to appreciate one of the most prized wines of the Umbrian land. We will stop in a cellar to taste the renowned Sagrantino di Montefalco, a prized red wine gift of these lands. After your free lunch, transfer to Bologna. Free dinner and Accomodation in the B&B. - Day 15
Time to Say goodbye!
After breakfast, jump on your Flight Bologna - Philadelphia.
